Thought I'd share some pics of my broken gs as I sit waiting for the RAC! Just clicked up into 6th and it went bang with oil all over.

Looks expensive? Good job it's under warranty

It's not a common failure and at least it under warranty so all should be made good, whose fixing it?

Any symptoms beforehand, like clicking out of gear or a difficult change or new noises?

I think you will find the shaft exited the casing into the clutch housing. what year is it?

Its a 2005 bike with an aftermarket warranty i bought with the bike.

The gearbox had no symptoms at all and was running perfect, It just felt like it had jumped out of gear but when i stopped there was oil going every ware.....

I had a total failure last year but it did have 70k on it. No warranty but my local dealer did offer a free fit if I bought a new box from them. I nearly shat myself at the dealer price so picked up a good second hand box from Sherlocks.

Thankfully it's very rare and not a known issue so everyone can rest easy.

Yep, the early ones used to jump out of 3rd and 5th
