I've got an 1150GSA and the gear position indicator is playing up, showing the numbers incorrectly, especially 3rd and 4th. No big deal but I also get an occassional failure of the neutral light to show and on one occassion the bike wouldn't start in neutral but started with the clutch lever pulled in.

I plan to get the switch replaced at my next service but before then I have a trip to Spain, in the next 3 weeks for 10 days.

Am I correct in thinking that this switch isn't going to cause any starting failure or should it be replaced before I travel?

It's easy enough to dismantle & clean...

...once you have removed it from the bike. :green gri

No issues apart from those you have already experienced.

You can pick them up between £30-£50 second hand depending on model, and around £100 new.

Just means you have to count up too or down from 6, and use clutch in with sidestand up to restart if it goes.
