Hi,
I just had mine done last week after quite a few problems with it. Pulled the connectors off and spayed it in WD40 .. unfortunatly it didnt resolve the problem, (although a couple of years ago a similar action did) -
I have a Kliktronic in place and really need to know what gear I am in at all times. When cold it was fine but when warm it was either blank or lied about which gear it was in .. in gear when neutral light was up.
The part cost £139 and the total bill was £190, inc VAT, - Garage had to "borrow" a special Torx spanner to change the thing although no charge for this.
No re-setting required at all, did disconnect the battery though for safety sake prior to work commencing. fired it up after ..... perfect again. Plenty of electrical grease carefully placed around it to keep moisture at bay.
It is possible to get second hand units, these are very model year specific and there have been a number of changes, - Not sure that given the hassle and the short life span of this part that I would bother with a second here.
