Gear shifter made of gold??

After being quoted £72 for a gear shifter for my xchallenge I was wondering if it was made of gold...surely there must be a cheaper option??

Steel F650GS or Dakar one from Ebay

If you want a folding tip steel one, the Moose Racing MH12 fits the Dakar perfectly so would assume it would also be a good fit for the XChallenge.
