Yes- I believe that this is the gearbox end seal issue. Very minor at the moment and dealers advice is to wait, if I am not worried, because there may be an improved seal sometime....

This would imply that fixing now is just replacing like with like and is bound to fail again ?

7000 miles only and 1yr warranty remaining

Then the clutch will slip and they'll replace that for you.....happy days

Exactly the same as mine at about 6,000 miles - it is most likely to be the gearbox input shaft seal - it will only get worse, get it fixed before the oil gets onto the clutch and destroys that as well.

Not sure if it's the whole story, but my dealer told me that it may have be caused by an over filled gearbox at time of manufacture - the overfilling causes higher pressure (when oil is hot) in the gearbox and the seal fails - hmmmmmmmm.

he's missed a bit ;)

Mines much cleaner than his - I mean, look at all that rust on the crash bars - shocking negligence!

I wouldn't worry quite yet. I did 14k with it looking like that. When it really starts leaking it goes underneath, runs down your final drive and onto your wheel.....nice.
