I noticed the clutch slipping a little when I gave it a handful and most noticeable in 4th / 5th gear so with a forthcoming trip down Albania way thought it best to fit a complete new clutch (55k miles & last 24k mostly 2 up and loaded for camping).
The clutch splines are like little sharp teeth but the gearbox input shaft is the annoying bit, the splines aren't completely knackered but they look wavey and some are probably worn to roughly half the thickness so I'm looking at a new shaft and bearings...better to find out at home rather than in some wild west style Balkan village

What would I expect to pay to have the shaft and bearings supplied / replaced and what are the chances of me finding someone in N.E Scotland to do it ?
Actually I think I know someone who can do this be he is away on holiday for 10 days from today :blast

I've also got a rear UJ issue but I'll start a separate topic..

Mike.

Well, I'm going to wait for the mechanic from Keith Garage to come back from his hols, he has done these before and I'd rather it is done by someone who has previous...experience.
Although the Chris Harris vid does make it look kinda straight forward, maybe next time.
Anyone using the shafts from M/Works or Sherlocks and if so how well do they last?
