Took the 1200 in today for the 10,000k service only to be called an hour later by the mech to say that the layshaft (may have the wrong term but the one coming from the engine into the box) seal had failed and the dry clutch is covered in oil and needs replacing ..... only problem there are no new clutchplates in Aus and there is a minimum 2 week delay

Apparently there as ben a run of similar probs

My bike was a Oct 04 build and has run faultlessly till today

Adelaide motors have promised to provide me with a loan bike for the period and I have no probs with these guys they have been very helpful and concerned that I am kept happy.

I have been given a Scarver (Road Drill in a Party Frock .... the vibes the vibes !!!) over night then another bike for the duration

I wait in anticiation for my 12s return

HAHAHA!

Well, let's hope they have an uprated part or something. That sort of leak was far from unheard of in the older oilheads and I was hoping it was becoming a thing of the past. Perhaps they'll find a burr on the shaft passing through it or some sort of manufacturing flaw in the seal that will tell us why it failed.

This thread is a FIRST. The first time someone has said that a problem had been known to uccurr on other oilheads.:)
