Hi all,

I am still trying to replace the gearbox on my 1150GS.

I have sourced and fitted a replacement box (used) and after a few niggles have got the bike back together.

When I have run the engine, I can select neutral but when I try and select a gear it gives a positive click like a gear is engaged, but I don't get any drive. :nenau

Before I installed the gearbox, I did rotate the input shaft and noticed that the output shaft rotated also, not a perfect test, but somewhat reassuring.

So the question is, are the gears being almost selected? Is there some adjustment to make onto the splined gearbox selector shaft?

Can someone suggest some pointers to check out????

Is it possible that you have pulled the other end of the drive shaft out of the final drive ?
It is easily done

First thing we are going to have a look at is the position of the gear selector as it feels like it is engaging gears, but when the clutch is released all you get is a slight rattle noise from the gearbox and no drive to the wheel.

:eek

Check the easiest option first - the driveshaft. Both sections .

After reading your other thread, i'd have doubts of you putting the box in correctly, i'd just let you get on with it :D
