Gedinne - Classic road racing

It’s been a nice day, no photos because I left my phone in the camper but Paul certainly took some. The predicted storm has just let rip while we burn meat on the Cadac but we’ve got the awning to hide under and it might cool things down for tonight.

We were watching from somewhere along the straight before Robio. Kept an eye on the preceding corner, we might have been in the firing line if someone made a cock-up. (I've got some videos but can't figure out how to upload them from my phone.)

Not a great start today. We were back at the hairpin and on the first lap of the first race we saw there was a very low speed crash that looks like it had very serious consequences.

Sometimes road racing is shit.

Glum news.

Glum news.

It does put a bit of a downer on things.

Good news though is that the site in town was ok. We walked up through town to the hairpin and then wandered up the hill a bit in the morning before utilising the lunch break to head to the bar we visited for food/beer when you were with us before going to the paddock.

This year was the first time in about 8 visits I’ve walked a complete lap and I was very pleasantly surprised by some of the viewing spots as you go up the hill opposite the paddock. The downside is you need to carry your own beer.

One thing where we did mess up was the supermarket sold whole roast chickens so we planned to buy one with fresh bread on Sunday and they didn’t do them on Sundays :blast

We should have used the cheese I took from the UK on Sunday and had warm chicken Friday or Saturday. Lesson learned.
