Getting Worried

Btw. To the op. buy it and enjoy it. All new things have problems but they come with warranties. It's the luck of the draw and life's too short to worry about what might happen.

I hear they're awful things, with a lot of hidden problems that don't manifest until about 10000 miles plus - in fact, I think there was talk of recall.

Getting one now really is a big big mistake IMHO*

*I hear there is a lot of inaccurate info and damn lies on forums. ;)

Enjoy your new bike...its under warranty anyway - and I suspect the guinea pigs...oops...I mean, new owners...will be very well looked after! :thumby:

I'll agree its a great bike a massive leap forward that puts it ahead of its competitor and mine has a few issues that prevents me from be able to use it, it sits in the dealers awaiting parts now 3-4 weeks and still no light at the end of the Chunnel ! Now this is the frustration part of ownership its a great bike but its let down by the manufacture because they can't source the parts to fix it !

That's a shame

Ye I wouldn't get one either................oh ye I picked it up last Saturday!

My gearbox isn't the best, but I love the bike and I will put up with a bit of noise until its sorted

Don't panic

BWM are fully aware that some bikes have a clutch/gearbox problem (mine included)I am 100% confident that a fix will be sorted.

Plus it's got a 2yr guarantee

In the meantime I'm enjoying mine and so so pleased I persuaded myself to chop in my TC.
It's a long time since a bike I owned brought a smile to my face as wide as this does.

Steve

I imagine you’ll probably be getting a steering dampner

I hadn't clocked this either.

Is this the first sign of an acceptance by BMW that there could be some liability attached to the Kevin Ash affair?

Exactly.:clap The bike has a warranty, so just enjoy.:rob:thumb

Am picking up a new LC in five weeks, trading my 1200R, getting a bit worried about some of the negative comments on here.Have had the 1100,1150 and 1200 with no major problems but there does seem to be a pattern evolving with unhappy owners, anyone got any positive comments ?

Don't worry and please don't listen to the TOSSERS on here

" a FEW issues that prevents me being able to use it" for weeks on end ?

If I'd have spent the thick end of 15k and it was a useless piece of metal I don't think I'd be lording its greatness.

A few issues ? They they can't fix or get parts for ? Sounds like a fecking piss take to me. Are they using customers as a bloody test bed or what ?

Poor on so many levels turning something out that isn't exactly cheap on anything except reliability, usability, and any ability to fix the thing ?

How can anyone be happy with that shit ? :nenau

Mine is absolutely fine, love it, only problem is bastid work has got in the way of my miles in the last 2 weeks:rolleyes: :thumb

So you haven't got one then?

Say no more!

Love mine to bits. Used it every day since june 6th as its my main transport. Its the best bike I've owned. Better than my oilhead r1200gs I had before.

Very negative stuff on here it seems by a lot of people who don't actually own one.

However I would still take on board what current owners who have had problems say.

I too have had problems with my 1100 boxer, 1200gs and k1200s in the past, so I cant fathom some of the comments posted on here ?! Very bizarre. ...

This place is full of bloody moaners!! It's a very, very good bike, and it's current and up to date. There is so much whinging about noisey gears, can't find neutral, over sensitive throttle ... You name it, they'll whine about it!
Buy with confidence .... Best bike I've had in years .. :beerjug:

Some of the bikes do have gear problems. I own one of them

I think you'll find the negative stuff is by several folk who DO own them! I'm just commenting on their woes of ownership and saying I'd be pissed off laying out 15k for an epic reliability fail ! Seems reasonable to me ? :nenau

Well several have issues on this thread ranging from annoying faults to being parked up for weeks on end. BMW would have to produce a far better bike in terms of reliability for me ever to consider buying one.
They may ride well but I'd lie to feel confident about a new bike purchase and these WC bikes just don't offer that.
Basics really me thinks.,

I don't have rose tinted glasses, I just tell it how it is.:rob It's an awesome bike, and I've had no issues with mine (apart from replaced brake pads:rolleyes:). As mentioned above, most of the negativity is coming from people that don't even own the bike, or haven't ridden one.:blast

Too much scaremongery on forums, and unfortunately, too many people stupid enough to be sucked in by it all.:comfort

At least four or five people on this thread alone have Sid they've got issues, some of which are months long!
Are you not reading those bits of the thread ? :nenau
