Getting Worried

Lies. Damn Lies. And statistics :thumb2 Did you know 84% of all statistics are made up? :rob

NuttyGSerrrr and rattley...:thumb

Um table is based on what's been said (and MY interpretation of it)...where do you state you own one (in this thread) exactly?

Yes statistics can be made to show anything i.e the "Popes jewish"

On my 7th GS since 1989 (had one of every model since R100GS PD); now on an WC. Generally have 2 or 3 other bikes on the go at any one time. GS has always been one of my favourite bikes and the WC is superb. Anyone who doesn't think so is smoking s**t. In 24 years only had one bike (a triple black) that had any problems and the dealers couldn't have been more helpful sorting it.

Don't scan this place too often because, although I've been a member for sometime, I find the incessant negativity tiring. I just have to remind myself that for every whinger here there are several hundred happy owners getting on with riding and enjoying. This place just paints a poor picture because only those with a problem or, occasionally, a bit of banter post here.

Buy the bike; it's great!

Happy customer

Loving mine. Few little tweaks and fine tuning of gear lever and brake pedal have made it fit like a glove. Two weeks of great fun.

Am picking up a new LC in five weeks, trading my 1200R, getting a bit worried about some of the negative comments on here.Have had the 1100,1150 and 1200 with no major problems but there does seem to be a pattern evolving with unhappy owners, anyone got any positive comments ?

Don't worry about the nay sayers. Just get your bike, ride it and enjoy as in all probability, all will be fine. There are always a few people who have problems and they are the ones who shout and post on here. We had exactly the same doom and gloom threads when the 1200 appeared and it's proved the most popular bike BMW have ever made and most people ride it with no or very few problems.

I don't know why Captain Black even posts in here because he rides something designed in the 80's and is just stirring it up. If you have one, then you can rightfully comment on it but everyone else is just putting 2+2 together and making 5.

I have no idea how many BMW have sold and most are out there running perfectly well with the riders grinning from ear to ear so just don't worry about things.

Recalls for software and oil lube issues.

To many threads on here do mention faults and concerns about these bikes.

To much techno and glitches etc for me to ever be interested in this model me thinks. Reliability is a massive thing for me. Being great while its working isn't gonna make me dip 15k into one. I'll stick to my older models :D

Enjoy your WC's hope they sort the problems out quickly. :thumb

Yep some do have issues and they are the ones venting, some with the right too by the sounds of it but I've had no recalls as yet.

When the bike went for the first service there was a software update for the enduro pro plug but I knew that before accepting the bike other wise it's been no problem

I've been off it for 6 weeks due to surgery. Just come back from a quick blast and I'll be out all day tomorrow on it..... Lov'in it...

Sorry oh great wise one I'll go back to the 80s then ......:tears

But wait!! ........ It's an open forum and we've all allowed an opinion!!:bounce1

So I'll just carry on and read about the ever increasing unhappy buyers of the WC and comment on their comments..... If that's ok ? :nenau
It's a bit of a reassurance club in here. How dare people who have had issues a plenty even dare comment.,:blast

No problem with an opinion but at least get both sides of the argument. Some people are having issues and any new model will have teething troubles so instead of jumping on the LC bashing and "oh what a pile of shit they are" bandwagon, why don't you go out and ask all the satisfied owners out there who don't post because they are too busy riding and enjoying themselves:nenau That way, you may get a truer picture of the bikes acceptance.

Add me to that list of WC owners with no issues. Even the gearbox is now snickety-slick.

I've got a new LC gs and absolutely love. The bike misses neutral sometimes and I have a couple of tiny niggles but I'm hoping they will be rectified by the 600 mile service

I get off the oil rig in two days and can wait to get back on the bike. I miss the power of my r1 but can't imagine ever changing the gs

I'm glad I didn't find this forum until after the bike because I'm sure it would have put me off. I'm glad it didn't because this bike is just awesome

multi strada

Hasn't got 150 HP like my old Multi Strada !

I was in the dealers today having a new screen fitted to my Bike and a guy was just handing in his Multi strada and picking up his new LC he looked really pleased with his new purchase too. Perhaps its not got the 150hp but makes up for it in all the other areas.

As mine was in I asked them to check all was ok with the gearbox/clutch and mentioned the forum he also said no one had had any issues with the bikes they have sold. but due to some of the posts it makes you wonder if your bike has a problem or potential problem so my mind is now at rest and the enjoyment of a great bike continues.

Terry :D

I dont think so

Ok, you're right, its a shit bike, it should be withdrawn from sale, and BMW should start building 1100's and 1150's again, because they're so reliable aren't they.:blagblah:aidan

like your style but

I don't think they will be doing that some how the New GS1200 is the best selling bike in the world so far this year, so in my book that says they got it right.
ooh and Charlie is on board one doing his latest travel programme so watch the sales increase.

Love mine its the best bike ive ever owned so far, until next year when I shall be getting the new GSA.

I also had an R1 loved it but its too much of a single purpose bike for me as I use my bike every day to commute, (cant sit in traffic in my car) I sold it and got a Harley but of course hankered for a bit more power.

The GS does all I ask of it, very addictive sound track too I love it.

I agree, I do wish I could have kept her for the track though. I miss her already but the gs has helped me get over it :)

Ignore the moaners, it's a great bike.

Shit, wrong forum, I've got an 1100GS:aidan

I have 7 000 kms now clocked on my LC and I love everything about it. Only issue I have so far is a faulty cruise control switch, which gets temperamental from time to time. Apparently, the switch units on early models (mine is March) can go bad, and they will change them under warranty with a new model. Other than that, nothing, nada. Gear changes get smoother by the day, especially with the right technique, and the not-that-hard-to-find neutral is a very, very minor annoyance. :wave

Be also aware that a few naysayers here are people who have never seen a WC up close, let alone ridden one. :blagblah
