Givi Airflow Screen review

how do you guys using the givi 330af get on with it in strong side winds/passing trucks? going to have to change my standard gs screen as the buffeting is like a muffled jackammer and all the golachs get splattered on my visor.

Personally i dont find it a problem.

Well, I found the Airflow to be absolutely fantastic and made the bike an absolute pleasure. BUT I found that it actually caused buffeting of the body from side to side. This was solved 100% by the winglets. Now I have little or no problem with buffeting or wind noise. The only problem that I have (re the Screen of course) is lack of airflow on hot days, which can be solved by dropping the screen or removing the top part completely.

Well worth it!

:eek

you still don't get it .....I'm not looking to the points so close up ......it's just part of the overall vision....... :blast

but if you like to come to conclusions based on assumptions ?? so be it

or maybe you understand a metaphor ......IT'S LIKE MAKING LOVE.//////some like to use plastic for protection and feel safe.......some don't and feel more........most of us compromise , depending on the situation and preferences.......but after all even YOU DON'T NEED A LESSON ON HOW TO RIDE ..... or do you ? :aidan

Have you got clip ons on yours? and your "down on the tank" :D

No issues at all with mine (IMy bike came with wingletts so don't know what difference they make)

I have winglets and the givi...I would deffo go for the winglets as they do make a big difference IMO.

Those of you around 6'1 - do any of you have a really long back (so that shirts are never long enough and keep being untucked) and if so how have you got on with the Givi?

Is there anyone with one in the Stroud area I could have a look at? I know a lot of you have said its only £130 - but to me that's a lot of money and I'd like to make sure it will work for me prior to buying.

Thanks

Tom

I'm 6'3" and use an extra high seat on my 1200GS and it works great for me. As said before it works better than the screen on my old 1200GSA with Touratech spoiler on top.
Buy one and if by some chance it does not work you could easily sell it for a good price on here ;)

I agree - my only problem is that cruising in 3 figures becomes far too easy....

ERM, i may be wrong, but i think you will find there is a speed restriction on the screen. look in the instructions

Fitted mine last year and after a long France ride out, I was going nuts at a rattle that starts about 50mph. Could not find where it was coming from...Greased the fittings and rubbers, no fix! To cut a long story short, the Givi was so quiet at speed, it was the first time I'd been able to hear the rattle coming from an air vent on my helmet!!! I cannot rec:thumb2ommend this screen enough! Does need winglets to make it a complete package though.

I picked up my 1200 yesterday, I was expecting the screen to be annoying after owning a 1150 and an 1000. And it was. So today I'm going to take your advice and order the Givi and the winglets.

Yes, it does look less than great and some of us like to keep the stock look on bikes, but IMHO there's no point having the bike at all if it's annoying to ride.

Such brilliant bikes spoiled by a sheet of plastic. Mad.

If you search the for sale section you will find a second hand one for sale.

Givi AF330

Original screen is rubbish, Mra Vario Is good but to narrow so had a lot of buffeting on the arms, even with winglets fitted. Have now fitted the Givi AF330 and it won't be coming off the bike. 80Mph and no buffeting and no noise with winglets fitted. Screen set 1 notch up from the lowest level and top of screen just below nose level. Seat height at the highest setting and I am 6 ft 2".

Good news i've just fitted one, i am going for a my first ride tomorrow I keep looking at it when i go into my garage it's growing on me and if it improves my ride i will be very happy i'm 6' so looking forward to riding on the higher seat setting.

hi guys
I am just fitting this givi to my 12 plate GS , and have a query over the hand operated adjuster screw, ie the one fitted to the stock screen with its graduations. When the screw is wound in hard , there is nothing like the same amount of thread showing on the inside...and am wondering if you try to undo the screw at the roadside...wont the captive nut come off? With the stock screen fitted there is maybe an inch of spare thread so this cant happen...
so do you fix the lower screen in position and tighten up the captive nut onto the top hat nut ?... with the stock screen its easy to quickly unwind the screw , move it and then screw back up...cant see how I can do this with the givi, as there is no spare thread for the top hat nut to undo to.
Or do you leave the captive nut off completely ?.

appreciate its hard to explain what I mean ...
