I have been trying all these years to own a bike that is nice and clean to look at, . . .
Enter the BMW R100RS, with low miles (12000) and I know its sacrilege to even think of using a bike like the RS and make it your own . . .
I've been thinking of converting my R80/7 to "RS spec", well at least disguising it like one behind a fairing. Where in the country are you located?I will have the fairing up for grabs and side panels, seat base is a bit gone but repairable.
Centre stand has lost its foot peg and does go a long way forward but the front wheel is off the ground, is this normal?
Tomorrow I will try the right side and hopefully remove the main Fairing.
At least you will be giving the bike a new lease of life, although not as an RS

If you are not going to re-use the fairing...cut it off;
they are worth next to nothing these days !!

spose it makes the diminishing number of remaining original "RS's" more valuable I can barely follow this thread as another classic gets trashed

...sit behind a massive fairing and roast in the summer and have the engine noise amplified by the dustbin.
Might as well buy a car

You've just described my RT
I love it![]()
And mine, spring and Autumn is RT time!
