Goldwing…….nearly

I believe you can get a Traxxion kit to allow the Tour top box removed quite simply when not needed and if you want to flip between the bagger and the touring styles. No idea how easy it is to install, but at least you can have the full function goldwing and the bagger look if that gets you hard.

Buy an expensive version of the bike and then buy something else to (maybe) take the sofa part away? No thanks. I did though find these via a Google search:

The Traxxion website doesn’t seem to mention any kind of kit. It’s very big on suspension though.

Well if you want to flic between the two, why not?

I looked at it yesterday and there’s a shitty video on YouTube as well. I’ll dig them out later, when I’m back from the gym (where I am now).

It also begs the question as to where you keep the sofa, when it’s off the bike.

I quite like the tongue-in-cheek and slightly disparaging style of Max from Traxxion’s videos.

Traxxion dynamics. I watched some of his videos and have come to the conclusion that they find solutions to problems that don’t exist.

They found and offered a solution to removing the trunk (also known as, sofa) which was useful and entertaining enough to watch. I’m content with that.

Why would you buy a pretend Goldwing :nenau It’s got no topbox so it looks rubbish.:augie
His bike in that colour with that box looks very appealing to me.
I'm incredibly impulsive and buy with the heart. Considering SWMBO's comfort and storage requirements are for the head thinking buyers.

As there was a bod on the site who made hanging baskets, out of full face helmets *, nothing would surprise me.

* Thereby adding style and elegance to his house in Rotherham and confirming his full bikermate credentials.

this is the product i was looking for. its not for you, and nor is the tour model.

There's a chap on the UK Goldwing Facebook page thinking of selling his 2018 black tour DCT with the Traxxion kit already fitted. No mileage or price details as yet though.

When it comes to factory quick removable accessories such as racks, trunks, windshields, etc. Honda. really all of the manufacturers, could take a lesson from Harley Davidson.
At least Honda offer a bagger Wing because for years they only came with the trunk which wasn't really removable. If you didn't want the trunk there was the ST1100/1300.

Come to think of it, I remember a guy in our village who had a new 78 GL1000 Goldwing.
Totally naked bike, and the only crap bolted on was a side car for the fat Heffalump he married.

So what is a proper Wing, and what is a pretentious Wing..

Out of the three, I would pick Arsey's bike, the BMW, and last place would be the full fat Goldwing

Thank you again for these.

Having watched them properly, I like the kits and the way the fellow presents the installation methods. Like many American kits, they seem well made and, once installed, would make the swapping over reasonably snappy.

Not a problem one of the great things about bikes is there’s usually a bike for every taste.

I today rode my “full fat” wing from southern Yorkshire up to my gaff on the beach at Scotland.

5 hours of riding in extreme comfort. Had some work shite packed in the large top box to justify me billing the day and travel expenses.

True, I could have put it in bag strapped to the passenger seat of the bagger version, but I was quite happy with my setup.

When I fly over to the US to go riding with some mates in Texarse, I might pick up some of that traxxion stuff to bring back for my bike.

Whatever ride you like, enjoy the ride
