I bought my HD 7 years ago after I lost a few friends on Sports bikes, and thought it was a safer mode? Anyway got it, don't use it that often (but have just done a 1,500 mile trip to the Lakes and across the Pennines to Northumberland and Scotland). You can tour on it , it goes well, doesn't stop too easily, is very comfy, but you definately appreciate having the HD and another bike to accompany it.

Been commuting last 2 weeks into Central London on my electraglide ultraclassic...50 miles each way. It has been a real laugh, if you work at it you can keep up with the sports bikes into town and filter (up to a point ).

Plus I listen to the radio and generally enjoy the ride.

And, amazingly, this week I have been getting 50 mpg. Same as I get on the GS1150 when I commute.

Wait til the school hols are over and traffic returns to normal.
