Gone

When I do the Scotland NC500 Tour, I'll take the GSA as that would be best suited for that holiday.

No worries with that. :thumb2

Sounds a fair ratio to me, what's the problem with that? :D

Nothing

Just your reasoning, for leaving them at home

I am amazed that your scared the 12 GSA will get nicked or the ATwin will get a puncture in a tubed tyre and you can't handle it

Andres was right, the most absurd bollox I have ever read on here

Have a word with yourself...............please:rolleyes:

Can't handle it... haha, ok. So my reason doesn't make sense to you, because it's not your money to gamble with which makes sense. If you choose to ignore the risks that's your call isn't it. But I choose not to ignore the risks. :blast ....tyre punctures I can handle, holding up the group unnecessarily I won't be comfortable with... and you can't tell me fixing a tubed puncture is easier than non-tubed tyre. It's 10 minutes vs 40-50 minutes.

But Ok, I'm having a word with myself right now.

..... Yep, still taking the Bandit 1250.

Thanks for that, I feel so much better now :D

Oh... and I've not rode my BMW R1200GS Adventure through the winter salt either. Been parked up for 3 months while I used my other bikes.

And fuck me, it's not gone rusty ! How mad is that? :blast

My strategies must be really messed up.

Nice edit:rolleyes:

Have a nice holiday, we wish you all the best

I've got a 1200 Bandit also.. love it for a blast.. but a bit buzzy on the motorways (5 speed model.. do they have 6 now?)... great bike though

That is just unfucking believable.

Seriously, that probably takes the biscuit for the biggest load of bollox I have ever read on this site and boy, does some bollox get posted up on this site.

Andres

His friends are all very rich. He’s told us, more than once.

Have you ever had a plastic Netto bag stuck on the headers ?

I feel for you, OP. I has a bike nicked from around the back of Goodison Park many years ago. It is a horrible feeling looking at the empty space where your pride and joy was sitting. Good luck on the claim and subsequent insurance premiums. And if you ever find out who did it, torch their fecking house!

Well it isn't a shame really, I'm still riding my bike with my mates on a weeks riding holiday :) (that's half the problem, they've booked 4* and 5* hotels and I would rather have stayed in biker friendly B&B's myself... but they've all got retirement money and want the high life).

The Bandit 1250 has toured with me before and is completely capable, albeit basic. But it's set up well and dirt cheap.

I know you won't agree, and think I'm daft/OCD/pussy, but my other half works in Vehicle Insurance Claims and I hear this shit every day.

I really don't want to leave my £20k motorcycle sat outside overnight.... especially the first night at a ferry port :comfort

Unfortunately, having a 'well it's insured' or 'it won't happen to me' or 'who cares' attitude is not the way forward for me. Again, knowing these machines are easy to steal and highly desirable I'd rather just leave it at home and ride my scrapper instead. If that get's nicked fuck 'em. I'll walk home and get another one :D

So, where are you going, that’s so rife with crime that you’re leaving your GSA at home, and riding that old banger?

My 1 week old GSA Rallye. Forced entry into garage by a gang that had targeted the bike. Gutted beyond words as my car was taken last year and I struggled to insure the bikes last time. 40 years riding... no idea why I’m posting this but go check your security - then add to it. You don’t want this feeling

I'm sorry for your loss I know how you feel. I was robbed about 18 months ago and they took everything, new GS, luggage sat nav etc etc.
Obviously beefed up security with alarm, cctv and various locks then treated myself to a new GSA.
I'll do what I can to keep it safe but won't stop me using it otherwise what's the point of buying it.
Good luck with everything and I hope you paid out soon with not too much hassle.

All the best
JJ

If you have any scrapper bikes like that that you want to give away, I will gladly pick it up...............

Also sorry for this having happened. As a young lad, I skimped and saved for a XJ600 (pre-diversion). Okay not a proper sports 600, but it was the best I could do by working in the shitty job I had at that time. When it got stolen by a local biker gang (Coventry Slaves, now part of the Midlands Outlaws) injustice was all I felt - the poor robbing from the poor.

Regards the video posted of the attempted theft, no-one's shocked (or even angry?) any more at the brazen attempt, but I find the wanton vandalism simply depressing.

Making me paranoid. Have a 25 day trip booked in May. Taking Xena alarmed disc lock for the front. Small Abus disc lock for the rear. 13mm Pragmasis chain and finally a bike cover. Using hotels with secure parking where is available but there will be at least 5 nights with the bike parked on the front - not the road. Been using street view to assist.

Cannot do anymore. A Theft would really piss me off but more so if in the beginning of the trip.

RE OP A week old they must have followed you home or is someone local? Feel for you Pal!

Warlord - Love the Bandit!
