When being used on the bike, my 2720 suffered a slight screen 'fogging in the middle' problem, even though it was brand new, straight out of the box. After about 2 months, I did a trip around Scotland and the fogging (condensation) became so bad that I couldn't read the map.. it would fog up when the sun came out and wouldn't fully clear again for over an hour.
As it was more than a month old, the place I bought it from (Handtec, Peterborough) didn't want to know and told me to contact Garmin directly, which I did.
I won't go into the 'waiting on the telephone' scenario, that's all been documented elsewhere, but when I did finally get through to someone, the advice was 'Check that the breather holes in the back of the unit aren't blocked', which they weren't. The next peice of advice I thought very strange... 'If it does it again, put it in the airing cupboard overnight' :D
I'm off to Poland on Friday, and the thought of having to find B&Bs with airing cupboards filled me with dread... have you tried to learn to speak Polish
Eventually, they agreed that I should return it and they would investigate, the turn-round time being 10 working days... I had 3 weeks before going away, so that was OK.
To cut a long story short, they lost it, and didn't find it again until there were only 3 days left to my holiday. After much hanging on the phone and emailing, a brand new replacement turned up... just in time :clap
Good on yer, Garmin... but your telephone waiting system stinks :nono
