Yep, love mine, best all rounder, white Gs Wc, amazingly nimble, clutch not 100% but can live with it, the good far outweighs the bad by far.. k1200s & R1200c also in my garage, but for all round usage I take the Gs..

Went to excell bike show, found nothing similar design I would even consider trading for.. Except maybe the new GSA..

Yes, best bike I've had to date. All of what's been said above - quick , responsive, very nimbly(for a bike that weighs so much in the garage), not bad on consumption either.

And yes, mine does crunch into 1st gear but that's all, no issues elsewhere.....

It's my first GS. I have owned a lot of sports bikes and recently a 990SMT and a Multistrada. The GS is much better and particularly against the latter two.

It puts a smile on my face every time I ride it. Whether that is a thrash with my mates on sports bikes or tootling round the Scottish Borders. Had seen GS's been thrown about in the past so knew they handled, but on a trip up Loch Ness a mate on an MV F4 struggled to keep up on the twisty bits.

Well designed with modern looks and with some lovely features like the screen adjustment, Monobloc brakes, Sat Nav mount, cruise, adjustable seat, built in pannier mounts, LED lights, it all just blends together.

Hasn't been without niggles, such as rear pads down to the metal in 600 miles, heated grips that didn't work and though they are now better, still not as hot as I would like and a replacement throttle grip. Doesn't matter as that hasn't changed how the bike makes me feel. Got a 9 day trip to Spain this year and can't wait as the bike is brilliant.

Best GS I have ever owned. With the worst gearbox I have ever used.

Thanks guys. Since ordering a new bike which I get next week I've just read so much bad stuff and was thinking
I had made a big error. Just hope I get a good one and any niggles get sorted including the heated grip issue.

I haven't had time to search though the forum yet but having only done about 500 miles on the LC just these past couple of weeks it seems to me as if the bike just isn't upset by and crappy road surface. Not that my previous 2012 bike was! It is just that this feels superior. Can somebody give a technical explanation? Is it related to semi active suspension working miracles in milliseconds? or perhaps just wheel and tyre size?

All round very happy with this bike. And on a relaxed ride up the M3 it was returning 56mpg.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

I may have a 'good one' but 3000 miles in since December, ALL types of weather, nothing wrong. Heated grips are a bit hopeless, and if you ride in the wet/mud/sh*t, don't wear your best pants/shoes until you get a Mudsling or a hugger! (Waders may be cheaper option!)

Best bike I've owned in 30 years of continuous bike ownership. Has turned me into exactly the thrill seeking hooligan that the oilheads seem to hate. Every ride is a hoot. Off with the traction control and up with the front wheel.

I agree just picked up my lc GSA .in my mind does everything better that the old one and am very pleased,even let my mate have a go who owns a Kim 1190 and he came back with a big smile and nothing but praise

I have just found this:-

This semiactive suspension monitors the vertical movement of front and rear wheel control in travel and speed as well as other parameters by means of a spring travel sensor in each position and adapts the damping automatically to the situation depending on riding conditions and the manoeuvres being carried out by the rider. Damping adjustment of the spring struts at front and rear is effected by means of electrically controlled regulation valves. The drastically improved contact between road and tyres means that Dynamic ESA can provide a previously unequalled sense of security.

Now I understand that Dynamic ESA is so much more than ESA as was on the former GS's and RT's .... to my non techmical brain I just wanted some sort of explanation for this superior/ more secure feeling.

So is this (semi active suspension) really working so fast that the sensors can alter the damping in milliseconds?

It was without question the Best GS I have ever ridden (and I was a big fan of the previous one).
The WC I demoed made it's predecessor feel very dated ..I did a bit of a ride report and posted it on ADV with a tonne of pics.
