As bendy says. You shouldnt mix different colours (i dont know why) but as long as you change ALL the fluid its fine.

I'm not sure about colours. The issue is that 1200s use a mineral oil same as used in Citroen car hydraulics. The earlier models use brake fluid.
so on my 2010 is this stuff for the clutch , brakes or both? not clear looking at the pics

The only brakes anywhere that use LHM fluid are the old Citroen cars with powered hydraulic systems. Use mineral oil in normal brakes (or a clutch that uses brake fluid) and you'll be buying new brakes - it quickly ruins hose linings and seals.
I would personally love to see a bike using the Citroen system for brakes, suspension and ride height. But my dreams are likely to remain just that.

Mikeyboy has just renewed my brake fluid, along with new pads front and rear, and a complete final drive rebuild, so that's that lot sorted for a bit..... I'll save the clutch fluid change for when I'm bored of polishing
BMW have used yellow, red and blue coloured fluid on the 1200 clutches. You mustn't mix the colours. It's a full flush if using a different colour fluid.
Was going to get some LHM ready to do my 62 plate TC, but i got talking to a guy on thursday that claimed to be a bmw independant mechanic and he said the clutch fluid stays in for life!!

Mine is only three years old and black with contaminants its going to be changed no matter what anybody might say about "for life" thats nonsense just like Ford snd the Haldex rear ends. Cheap to change so might as well do it.
