Seem to be having a few issues with vibes and bolts on my 800GS. Have had it since middle of Feb.

Got home after a 2 hour journey a few weeks back and the long bolt holding my (plastic) bash plate was just about hanging on. Did about an hour on the M5.

Did the same journey last week and the battery connector hat 'rattled' loose causing my indicators, lights and, even worse than that, my heated grips to stop working.

Just wondered if anyone else has had similar probs and whether I should buy shares in loctite!

Otherwise its an amazing!

Doesn't sound right to me. Mine has a bit of a tingle, that gives a bit of white finger after about 3 hours, but not the kind of vibes you seem to be describing. Having said that, my gear change pinch bolt, and side stand bolt needed tightening. But it has done 7500 miles. Try riding another. I'm going out past Banbury and on to Tewksbury tomorrow lunchtime, you're welcome to swap bikes for a few miles.

Thanks for the very kind offer v8legend. Am out early for a couple of hours tomorrow but I have to be back before lunchtime.

Mine feels no more vibey than the 2 demo bikes I rode before buying. Maybe just a slack mechanic on the production line, or I am using too many revs!

Have a good ride

Can you use too many revs? So long as the over-rev light isn't permanently lit, then you're OK. I'm now going to have a good check over mine before I leave. I suggest you check your stand and gear lever (funny bolt on that one - reverse torx).

Mine did that - put a nylock on (kindly given for free at Touratech strangely ) and never had another problem until I changed the bashplate to the Adventure Spec model about 6 months later. For the other bolts Locktite works well
