Its been an roller coaster of emotions today, traded in my '99 RRX fireblade which I've had for 6 years for a new GS...:bounce1 It was an intentional slow drive to the dealer this morning to say goodbye. The feeling was like taking mans best friend to be put down! :( . But my recovery was swift:bounce1:bounce1 I can't believe its here, its mine, I have it and its fantastic.... if you're in doubt about going through the change, and I know its not easy, one does get attached to ones bike. But the journey home was just great, worth all of the overtime and saving. Highly recommended. And I'm sure the old blade will go to a good home:rob

I owned an RRX and went straight from that to test drive an 1150gs at SBW. I got back on the blade and grinned again. The GS was bland, slow, boring, and just totally forgettable. I was left blank and totally bored by this 'brilliant all-rounder that would tour, trail, commute etc blah blah'. Anyway, I'm on my 9th (yes, 9th!) oilhead now. I can never see me ever changing bikes again. I love them. They are everything I want out of a bike and feel totally natural to my riding style. I've done 3k mile trips, hard off-roading and commute regularly on one. I can do most servicing myself and keep up with all but the most committed sports bike rider on most roads. I've come from R1s, TLS, blades etc to this....... and I love it!!. Anyway, welcome and enjoy the new way of life. Get to the mountains, trails and London roads. :thumb2

When I read the title, I thought it was y2kblade growing up for a minute :D

Did the same thing... 929 Blade to my first GS.... don't miss the riding position at all ;)

Same here from a Honda sp2 now on my second GS12 :D

Enjoy

All I can say is enjoy the lack of wrist and back ache. You know you are going to any way
Regards
Matt

+1 :thumb

I loved my RRX but the time for it to go when I needed to get off after only 40 miles - the pain was unbearable! Obviously it was OK over 50 mph due to wind pressure but in the real world - ie plodding along in jams - it was literally a pain! Final straw was when I got pins and needles in my hands and could not feel the front brake

I would rather have comfort over speed any time. Better there late than never...

Go on then

have second thoughts ....

wish for more power .....

miss the acceleration ....

then realise the real world power ...

happy GSing :hide

Thank you for the posts. They have helped me through the last couple of weeks:confused: I now have 250+ miles under my belt on said gs, and it just keeps getting better :D Just the initial shock of going from blade to gs, it takes a little adjustment which I wasn't expecting. Can't wait to get the running in period over with :bounce1. Thanks again everyone.

Well I am thinking of going over to the Dark Side . After 2 1200RT and a GSA ( Love affair that lasted 2 months ) I decided that I should try something different .Tried the Megamomoto ,HP2 Sport ( what a gearbox ) ,990SM , RC8 and finally the 08 CBR 1000RR . What a tool...Apart from the slight forward position:hide ,it would be the perfect bike :light ,maneuvarable , excellent gearbox and torque/power
So I shall wait until the new CB1000R is coming out in June/July...
