Got me one :-)

wow, BMW done their homework again:augie

Thanks for the reply and keep us updated:thumb2

It's not that bad and you do get used to it, same as HP2e

The faster you go............. the better it is

XC's handle fine and the airshock is a lot lighter than a conventional spring unit

The only time you really notice the airshock is on tight, nadgery rocky going where you have to slow down

no worries just thought i'd ask in case you were planning on binning them :p

My HP2 was a hell of a lot better on the air sock then my 650. The best then I did was add an Ohilns to the 650

Its getting there :thumb

How did the HAGON shock perform, i havnt had any issues with my air shock as yet but its worth bearing the Hagon shock in mind, you said it was £275 , is that right all other posts people seem to be talking £500 plus for a replacement shock?
Also sorry to be a pain but where did you get the shock from? and what was its availability?

thanks ferret:thumb

Hagon shock has a single adjuster which controls rebound and compression together. Ohlins will have separate rebound and compression adjustments, probably serparate high and low speed compression adjustment as well. This would explain the price difference.

I run the air shock with more air, around 120psi. This increases damping as a greater mass of air has to pass through the damping unit. The shock also sits further up in the stroke so can't extend as far, greatly reducing the ejector seat feeling. Luckily I'm not a short arse with the bike now sitting higher but a low seat makes it easier to get a foot down.

I bought the shock direct from Hagon for £275 delivered, link here http://www.hagon-shocks.co.uk/main1st.htm

It felt great but the ride out didn't exactly test it to its limit's :augie but as i intend to do most of the Rallies this year i don't fancy messing about with the air bag :thumb2

Thanks for that, hope to be doing some of the rallies again this year, did the radnor forrest, cambrian and hafren last year, didnt do too bad but hope to do better this year:thumb
Maybe see you at some, as you pass me of course:eek:

I will keep an eye open for you :thumb You riding an x challenge ?

Rim Locks

Right the story so far, I have received a frame guard (you only get one :nenau)and a replacement steel gear leaver for a KX60.

Today i popped into my local off road shop, bought some extra heavy duty tubes, a bottle of slime and a rear rim lock (i don't bother with a front as i always get punctures right were its fitted :() I also managed to scrounge an old pair of MT21's for nothing, They will do till the first rally comes along :D

I have ordered a Scorpion Exhaust, a BMW Headlight Guard and 14 tooth front sprocket.

Next up i need the replace the clutch and front brake leavers, as the chap i bought the bike of cut the balls ends of so the handguards would fit. Then i going to try and make a sump guard, I think the £180 Touratech want is a bit over priced, Then sort out the rear end with some smaller indicators and fabricate some sort of tail tidy.

I will be fitting some wider bars and some bar risers i have spare the back of the garage.

I think I'm going to replace the rear Air shock for a HAGON unit, at £275 it sounds like a good deal :thumb

Talon make some very narrow rim locks which makes it easier to fit tyres and les prone to punctures.

dibdob which f650 brake lever did you get from wemoto that fits the xchallenge ?
