Got mine on Wednesday - what do I make first.................

Looking good, Mark.:thumb

As discussed, a mounting bracket for some LED spotlights would be good, somewhere under the beak maybe (if it's strong enough to support them under there ). My dealer seems to think the BMW ones aren't compatible with the XR's wiring system, so I'm trying to find something that looks as oem as possible, with a subtle switch.

I may just wait for BMW to release them, as I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they do.

Final photo`s of finished belly pan

Here it is guys, final powder coated images including the heat shielding (which I will supply `loose` so that it gives the option of cutting to shape & using or not).

Retail price is going to be a little over £105 plus the dreaded which, seemingly is around the price of the premium ones currently available for similar models, it should be higher as I haven`t given one thought to economical manufacture or design at all but I don`t want to overprice just because its made with love :bounce1. Anyone who may want one, and who has kindly helped and supported this development, will get it at mates rates :thumb2

Thanks for all the help and support - you know who you are :clap

A bugger to fit ?

A bugger to fit ?

Thanks pal and no - it was a bugger to fit but I`ve redesigned it so it is easier. I suspect, with all the tools there and including the tapping, that it should be done easily in one hour tops. Its a job that does need some concentration however but well within most of us`s abilities (made up word there - did you see it)

Attention to detail mark, first class and looks totally different in black, £105 for all that hard work and powder-coated finish is a bargain.

All this bling you keep producing makes me want to go and buy another XR .

RIch, BMW are talking shite there spots/fogs will work, you just need to no how to wire em up, however at the price bm want for the lights I'd strongly suggest you buy elswhere, 10w cree's would get my vote, small discreet with excellent light output just as good as the bm ones.

Mark, that looks great, mate.:thumb

Good to know that it's not that difficult to fit, but I'll still get my mate to fit it for me, as all that bending would probably finish my back off!:comfort:D

Yeah, i saw a thread on the other forum, so they are talking shite! How do you rate the Denali lights, as they do a simple mount that will allow them to go where to mudguard bolts on? Is there a way of fitting them without a switch, so they come on all the time, as I'd prefer less clutter on the handlebars?

I've got the square Durite led's on my bike, I put a thread on the RT section a month or two ago if you want to see them on a bike, admittedly not the same bike as yours but better than seeing it on the screen.
They are badged as Durite but identical to the square Denali ones- not sure if one company is the sister company to the other one?. They feel very good quality and are very sturdy. The pics on my thread don't do them justice - it was a very bright day in full sunlight. They are very bright , I have them aiming right down as they are intended to be DRL's rather than spotlights. HTH

Light bar for Nuts is on the list, Nuts.

Send me some ideas on what you want when you have them :thumb2

Now you have exceeded your expectations on being able to design the cat cover with the stand fitted, I assume you now have added self esteem and an abundance of confidence that will enable you to make the Sat-Nav lock.

good man

cheers Terry

Thanks for that. I'll check those out.:thumb

Hang fire on the light bar for the time being, Mark. I may go for the Denalis and mount them at the top of the forks.

Redrick wants his chain guard!:D

satnav security

Guys, a few of you have asked (code for `pushed`) about satnav security, asking if I can design anything using the BMW locking system.

Firstly, and despite what they may tell you, the lockable version DOES NOT work on the XR as you simply can`t access the lock once fitted.

Sooooooo IMHO the only solution, to meet your requests, is to make an adaptor to push the assembly into a space where the key can be used. The following images show the idea (but not the solution - it will be more complex).

I will be `off grid` for a wee while now while I consolidate the belly pan but I will keep an eye on any replies. And, of course, I need to stop all this and get on with making that belly pan for Nuts................

Mark

You are the Man I Knew you would come up with a resolution if only BMW had put a little thought in, in the first place eh

cheers Terry

I've been speaking with Mark about heavier bar end weights. I've also mentioned it on the XR forums, as there are no UK manufacturers at the moment. So far, we have around 10 people interested in them (as long as they aren't too expensive), so who here would be interested in them, if Mark makes them?

FYI, Hooters, HMVP in the US made an initial batch of 75 last week, and they've sold out already, so the demand for these is high.:thumb

Bar Ends

Count me in, I'm sure the price will be fine if all the other items are anything to go by :thumb2
