Looking good, Mark. :thumb

Are you happy with it, or are there more revisions coming?

More revisions - these bikers are fickle fekkers.........

But going back to the rad cover - I am languishing in a lack of inspiration however as far as good protection goes I came up with this in a moment of epiphany

What purpose does the bellypan serve, Mark?

In addition to what Nuts said I`d guess that it also `enhances the appearance` of the bike & albeit very very slightly might improve wind resistance under the bike - but I`m only guessing. I`d buy one (and not necessarily mine) simply because it makes the bike look better (and I`m not saying mine will). That photo of Nuts`s R1000S with th belly pan on did look nice but the big problem the XR has is the stand. Not just because of the engineering problem it gives (which I`ve solved, god knows how I leave myself alone :D) but also because it simply ruins the appearance of the belly pan - only in my humble opinion of course.

Redrick would love one of those!:D

Well the top one is ok but the bottom one is only big enough for one egg

Revision E hopefully going on today before I start on the booze

And yes revision E already - it's really taking some man hours this as the clearance between the stand and cat is nearly impossible to accommodate in the geometry and still leave clearance - I'll do it though! (As long as I keep away from that corkscrew.......)

Revision E fitted - now working on bracket geometry and leading edge securing......... Enough photos for ya, Nuts?

Guys - IMPORTANT - what's this hole for under the engine? It's not metrically threaded and it seems a blind hole - could it be a casting feature - what do we think? I may need an anchoring hole for the front of the belly pan........

Revision E has it! Tadah! But it's a pig to fit - I was concerned about movement at the front but there's soooo little clearance that it hugs the cat so it's not going anywhere. Next job - what colour do I do it in?

The problem was getting it to fit without getting in the way of the operation of the stand - here's where it fastens to, two M8 bolts which hold the cat on. It's in Ali but the brackets are thick stainless for security

Powdercoat black of course !

Mmmm, just test ridden it (for rattles and it seems fine) but its very warm because its soooooo close to the cat (because the clearance is soooo tight because of the stand) so I don`t know if powder coat will simply blister.

Sooooo, I thought of spraying it in high temp satin black??????
