Got mine on Wednesday - what do I make first.................

Not powder coated, I simply got the spray can out (lot quicker) but you get the idea and it does look better black.

Pig to fit........... (but we wouldn`t want an `easy on easy off` thing would we :blast

and yes that is only 433 miles................
So how many XR clocks have been stolen so far?.

If you want more ideas, here's the cat cover for the S1000R http://www.tecbike.de/BMW/1000-ccm/...S-1000-RR-original-KAT-von-Perfect-Parts.html

Here it is on my R

One of these, powdercoated black, for the XR that will hide the cat would go down a storm. I've had a few comments about the cat, so if you could make something that would hide it, and blend into the bike, you'll be onto a winner. Tecbike have sold loads for the R, and several owners for the XR want one on their bike. The quality of theirs was pretty crap though, and I know you could design something much better.

As Tecbike haven't developed one (yet), I reckon you'll get a fair few orders.

Nuts, the stand gets in the way of a sump guard on the XR! There`s the slimmest of gaps between the cat and stand (most bikes will have the stand, Nuts, I`m sure as its standard on the `sports`) sooooo I`m starting to design something that will cover the cat and act as a sump guard. Dunno if I will solve this one but we will see. And yes, ffs, photos will be posted :D

If you can imagine the centre stand fitted to the image above you will get a visualisation of the problem.......

Now, I hadn't thought of that!:blast

Looking at my bike on the stand in the garage, it is tight. But you like tight spaces, so I'm sure you'll come up with something!:aidan

Just a personal indulgence

Fella`s I`m lucky enough to get `steerage` off you guys on what you might want (hanger, chain guard etc etc) but this item is purely for myself.

I`ve noticed that the heat shield/heel guard on the XR has suffered from contact with the heel of my boot, leaving black marks which, because of the finish of the material, is fekkin hard to get off.

Sooooooo, I`ve made a little stainless shield which is much easier to clean and stops the OEM one from getting marked in the first place.

Now its only the first one and it normally takes several before its worthy of presentation but I thought I would just post it to see if anyone else was having these marking problems..........

I really like your engineer skills (a lot) and the items you make are brill, but that brother looks shite. But you are correct the heel does come into contact with the shield, but not if you have the HP rear sets.

That ain't my cup of tea either, sorry Mark. Get the Akra, then you get a lovely carbon heat shield that doesn't show any marks!:D

I don't want to sound picky, but is this not a shield on a shield.

PS sat-nav lock lol

:D thats fine mate - I think it looks shite too, its the first one and they normally do!

So the HP rear sets stops this then!

Yes but they cost £500

No don't get the akra it's the size of a dustbin.

No you ain`t being picky fella - it IS a shield on a shield. Its just , for me at least, the original shield seems to mark really easy and is a pig to clean IMHO
