Be very interested to hear what the reasons for such a failure could be. Did it always run smooth without vibration? Looks like something that would happen if the inner and outer were not perfectly alligned before filling with orange goo.

Big chunks of that have come unstuck from the sleeve and nothing is left on the shaft, so unless the shaft has got very hot then I'd take a guess that the bonding between the PU damper and the steel sleeve and shaft was at fault




i thought that this way i would have a greater chance of doing that
the main reason i havent sent it back is that i dont want to send it to the states again. if it was a uk firm i would have taken it back myself already. I am quite happy with the machining work and their service (albeit slow with a few excuses) i think the weaping gearbox seal and hard 90mile (e/w) commute into london for 6 months (including the hottest part of summer) last year may have taken its toll along with being outside for the winter
