So after saying our good byes to Sid & Ann, we put our destination town of Lasse into the Zumo XT, selected the maximum adventurous setting, and away we went to play.
The SW of France has thousands of acres of sunflowers growing, so a piccie by a few of those acres seemed poignant.
The roads once again, were empty...
And as we were getting peckish, we found a little restaurant called Chemin Les Tables in Marsolan:
And ordered salads:
A little further along the route after riding some delightful French D roads, ice cream & a carbonated soft beverage were a calling.
We stopped in the town of Aire sur L’Adour and found a love cafe called L’Atura ice cream & a drink:
As with many French towns, there was a nice memorial dedicated to those that lost their lives in WW1:
Plus a couple of other memorials to chaps who had helped the town in the late 1800’s:
So after finishing our refreshments, we were on the road again and made a quick stop in Sauveterre-de-Béarn:
A nicely appointed church:
Another memorial, this one dedicated to the children who were victims of WW2:
And our first distant glympse of Les Pyrenees:
Another 45 km’s and we’d been in Lasse where we’d be staying the night.
