GPS fitting

I have a Garmin 3+ that I want to fit to the 1200. Do most of you use the auxilliary plug supplied near the bars or hard wire it to the battery.

I use the aux plug. Saving the battery for gerbings and lights.

I hardwired mine to the battery since the plug switches off immediately when I switch off ignition. (not after a 15 min delay as the bike manual says...)

Haven't got around to wiring up my GPS 3+, but was pleasantly surprised to get over 25hrs. use from 2300mAh Nimh rechargeable batteries.

I also wired mine direct to the battery, and use a RAM mount which is very good indeed.
