I've had a Garmin GPS III+ for a while now and never really got on with it. I hope i'm just not using it right and not getting the most out of it... Can anyone help:
- What's the best way to program routes using MapSource on the PC; this just seems to take forever and involves using normal maps or other software to start with to find out where things are and then scrolling around, zooming in and out etc. with the route tool. And then when you're out on the road, because the route links waypoints 'as the crow flies' the direction indicator on the unit is all over the place as the road twists and turns! Any help or pointers would be appreciated...
- Is there any software available that will calculate routes for me (ala Microsoft Autoroute for example - Quickest, Shortest, preferred etc.) and let me upload the calculated route to the Garmin unit without having to re-plot it all in MapSource?
