That would be good, thank you....Russ said:Only got my camera phone and no bluetooth to download the pictures, so i'll have to do it tonight
I've got a RAM mount for my SPIII on a CBR6. Still think I'm going the Touratech route. I quite like the idea of it being lockable. Also like the damping on the TT mounts. I've already had one display pop on my SPIII which I suspect was down in part to vibration.Schtum said:That would be good, thank you....I'm contemplating how to fit my Streetpilot III to the new 1200 when it arrives and like you, I've got the RAM mount from my VFR.

Gazza I've gone the same route as you, one question what cable are you using? I've got the BMW one(2 plugs) to fit their cradle should the cradle functions ( zoom etc) work with a 2610 or do they only work with the BMW Navigator?

Schtum said:Excellent..! Thanks Russ. Did you just bolt the U bolt directly onto the frame? I'm concerned about marking the finish, given how tight you must have to do it up to make it reasonably secure....probably even more so with a Streetpilot which is a fair bit heavier than a PDA, fitted to it.

GSmonkey said:Why is the TT solution cheaper?? Isn't it about £23 for the bar, then £70 for a lockable bracket = £93.
The Motorrad option is £90 for the bracket, then you use the plastic cradle which comes with the SPIII.
Or am I missing something??![]()
I thought that this might be the case. The point of the lockable feature is to stop some scrote nicking it in a petrol station as an addition to his 'sorted' Nova. As long as it would pass the 10 second Chavtest I'm happyPressurized said:Possibly that, like me, people will already have the SP III mount for the R1100 or 1150 GS that had the cross-member on the handlebars.
You should note that it's very, very easy to remove an SP III from its lockable mount. Just push the locking barrel towards the front of the bike and the unit comes free. Use the little screw supplied for more security or don't tell anyone that I said this.

Not sure if they do a lockable mount but their standard 1200GS mount is far and away better than the one BM produce
Cheers
I ordered some stuff from adventuremotorcycling for my old CBR6. YES it is RAM stuff. I later found that there is a massive markupRuss said:Some of it looks remarkably like RAM mount stuff to me...with quite a mark up
There seems to be a billion different ways of mounting the GPS which is a good thing![]()
