GPS60C button problem

Hi Guys, Just arrived for four months in the Philippines and my 60C has decided to stop working properly.

Starts up OK but after a few minutes all the buttons stop working.

Any ideas????

I had all sorts of problems when the memory was full.

To many track logs etc.

Just a thought.

I had this but only with the zoom buttons.....Garmin gave me a new unit .

When you say "after a few minutes" I assume that they are working ok to start with. Just a thought, but didn't Paneuropean say something recently about slowed down units, needing a factory or master reset.

Have you tried pressing and holding in the 'Enter' button then pressing the power on button at the top of the unit?
This makes the 60CS enter a diagnostic mode where you can test your buttons etc.
Just a thought -

You are not supposed to use when you are diving

Some of the Garmin devices are from factory set up to work in "safe" mode disabling the buttons while moving.

Enter the menus of your GPS and uncheck safe mode.

(Disclaimer - you are still not suposed to operate the device while blah blah blah blah blah blah and blah....)

Took it to 40meters is that the reason????

But seriously, rinsed with fresh water and cleared track log;;;; all OK now...

For the divers amongst you... 33 degrees out of the water and 29 degrees in. I am buying a 5MM suit as I'm getting cold......

i have a 60c aswell and mines been good as gold caked in mud ans dust all sorts!! BUT i havent taken it diving yet!!!!!!!



is it suposed to be good upto 40meters?
