Done the Route Napoleon starting in Niece (not where the route starts, but a great starting point if you know what I mean), and wholeheartedly recommend it.

You might also wanna go around Lac de Serre Ponçon. It's a fast route, and if done outside weekends/vacation days it's a beautiful ride.

At some point I’ll gather up assorted posts or threads, edit and then put them into one single Route Napoleon thread.

I guess I’ll put it into the Alps section, though it’s not really the Alps proper, simply as many people think of it that way.
