Switzerland, can be very expensive; I was bankrupted buying four coffeees in Davos. That said, it has some of the most attractive routes and (with a bit of care) needn’t always cost a fortune. All that aside, it’s a big country. To give a clue, it’s about 16,000 square miles, whilst Belgium is 12,000 square miles. So large is the place that Kurviger divides it into six separate regions, each with at least 10 separate route suggestions each.

I have started to gather all my Swiss routes together. I’ll expand the file as I place some more in it.

The route for the Swiss Tourist Office’s ‘Grand Tour’ is broken into individual sections, you’ll need to stitch them together. They were lifted from this website:

Please don’t think you’ll ride the whole lot in a day.

Here’s a link to the Kurvenkoenig website:

It’s useful as:

A. The PDF maps of all the routes download well.

B. It has hotel suggestions.

Tap around in it, you can’t break it.

Anyone looking at the RiDE route, might find this handy

The Five-Passes Tour

Day one Calais to La Roche en Ardennes

Day two La Roche en Ardennes to Baden-Baden Morning route

Day two La Roche en Ardennes to Baden-Baden Afternoon route

Day three Baden-Baden to Innertkirchen - no Swiss tolls Morning route

Day three Baden-Baden to Innertkirchen - no Swiss tolls Afternoon route

Day three Baden-Baden to Innertkirchen needs vignette Morning route

Day three Baden-Baden to Innertkirchen needs vignette Afternoon route

Day four Five Pass loop clockwise

Day four Five Pass loop anticlockwise

Day five Innertkirchen to Gerardmer needs vignette

Day six Gerardmer to Soissons

Day seven Soissons to Calais

NOTE

As the ‘routes’ are ‘tracks’, the clockwise and anticlockwise ‘routes’ will look pretty similar.

This is near enough what the seven day jaunt looks like:

Just looking at and copying this into routes and maybe a bit of a naming cockup on Day 2 & 4?
Seems to be the same track?
Day 4 CW and ACW work

Your work as always is much appreciated, saves me hours of planning !
many thanks

The originals are routes, one clockwise (CW) the other anti-clockwise (ACW). As I saved everything as tracks, it is very hard to tell them apart.
