Grampian motorcycle convention 7 Sept

It'd be worth going - just to see them prying the money out of the Aberdonians mitts :handbag

Grampian Motorcycle Convention

Well worth a visit, if only for the Moped Marathon and the parade of old racing machines like Mick Elston on his AJS 7R.

As it's mostly the same year after year, a visit every second year is the best bet. Still a great day out 'tho.

Once you've seen wot goes on, you'll not miss anything by not going the next year.

Agreed, the moped mayhem is fun - still got the well scuffed leathers and silly grin from the last time I entered - but everything else that goes on around the track just seems to get more "samey" every year (or is this just me becoming a grumpy old man :D).

Still, if you've not experienced it for yerself you'll not know wot you've missed . . . . or not, as the case may be.

It's Worth a Visit

Used to go up to the G.M.C. years ago, and it's usually a good day oot:thumb - but, sadly, it now always clashes with the Antler Rally on Ardnamurchan:( - and that's where we'll be going:beer: - done the Antler for over 30 years now:rob - it's a pity the dates clash.
The G.M.C. is well worth a visit though.

Cheers.......................Grizzly:beer::beer:

I haven't been for a few years as I have to agree with SteveT, it's very "samey", but also a good chance for a blether with folks you don't normally get to meet the rest of the year.
If you are going please note that Dibble WILL be out in force (:D) as they have a crack down on naughty bikers, especially if you're speeding

Heading over to Alford later this morn. Hope the weather improves:eek:

I caught the tail end of this show and it was exactly as I thought it would be which is exactly the same as it has been for the last 10 years. There were hardly any stands as they are in the middle of building a huge new "Hanger" which will hopefully house more stuff for the museum. The museum (Grampian Transport Museum) is far better than the show itself.

I had a look at the Shirlaws stand and must admit I think the new Aprillias are fantastic with superb styling, The Guzzis too are a favourite of mine and I can see myself going this way should I ever sell the BM's.

Have to say I went along and thought it was dissapointing this year.

Well it should be better next year:thumb I hear the Purple Helmets have been booked already:clap If you've never caught one of their shows, have a look on youtube, it would be worth the entrance money alone
