I can't quite work this out. At the moment when I'm riding my bike I can feel in my ankles a feeling that I can only describe as the feeling you get when you have a chain driven bike and the chain's been over tightened.

So far I've checked for play in the rear wheel (none discernable), tyre pressures (just about spot on) and play in the swing arm (none detectible).

Does anyone else have any ideas as to what it could be? It's minor enough that I can ignore it and probably isn't detectable unless you know it's there.

She's an '03 R1150GS with no ABS.

Cheers,

David

Is it only noticable at slow speds and seems to go at higher speeds? If so its the big bevel bearing. Or at least thats what mine was.

Hmm, I do notice it at speed too but it's probably worse at low speed. Any test for worn bearings?

Guess I'll have to pop into vines at some point.

Cheers,

Turn the rear wheel by hand, see if you can feel it as the wheel revolves - if so it's the bevel bearing/s
