I recently got my 2003 1150GS back after an accident in May. I have done a 1000 miles on it since but slowly felt that I had a faint grinding noise emanating in the area by the clutch slave cylinder /drive shaft joint area. The grinding noise only occured when at low revs (approx 2200 rpm) with the throttle slightly open eg: 60mph in 6th. The grinding sensation went away if I either increased revs or throttled off. My clutch and gears are/were fine.
Then on the way to work on Friday, I moved off in 1st and the noise became louder all of a sudden, which was rhythmic and got louder the faster I went. Luckily, this happened about 200 yds from work, I stopped and pushed it - (got a bit sweaty there!)
The bike's been recovered to a dealer and I am anxious about the news, before they hit me with the worst, can anyone shed light on what they think it is?
As a clue, when I had my accident, I got hit by a car changing lane - who hit the left side of my rear wheel at approx 20mph - would that have anything to do with it?
Help?
