GS 1150 Fork Oil

I need to do a fork seal change on the 1150, spewing on the left, the manual says BMW fork all, any sugestions as it is for lubrication only!!!!

You probably have not lost enough to worry about. when leaking a little goes a long way.

I would've thought any 5w or 10w fork oil would be ok... thats assuming you cant get hold of the genuine BMW stuff. think you need 500ml. Motul??? PJ1???

Not tar use, corrugated hard pack it spewed a LOT :blast

The oils only for lubrication-no need to spend money on fancy fork oil.
Last time i changed mine there was a load of brown gunge at the bottom of the legs.
Flushed it out with some petrol,allowed to dry and refilled will ATF (Auto Transmission Fluid).
Lubricates and doesn't foam so i've been told.

Sounds like a good option us to use it on dit bikes years ago.

Whilst at the dealer I was told by my foreman to use ATF to replace the oil in oilhead forks

400ml if I recall correctly but check that first
