My bike starts straight away from my garage but normally after my first stop maybe 3 miles it won’t start again like the battery is flat. It has broken down for about tenth time and been collected and taken to Dealer. I have had several batteries fitted and last time the software was upgraded. I use an optimate charger when in my garage. It is 2.5 years old. The problem is reproducing the fault as normally once with the dealer it will start ok although this time I have a video. Anybody else experienced this problem please.

Put it up for sale on UKGser. Do though be careful how you word the advertisement.

I don`t think you can upload a video straight onto this website you have to upload it to an image/video hosting site such as Postimage, Youtube, Vimeo etc etc then provide the link to it or embed it for viewing on here.

Surely you could upload to Youtube and then link to here ?:nenau:nenau

Start it in garage, let it run for a few minutes and stop it. Then start it again. Do it a few times and see if it fails. That shouldn't be any different to riding 3 miles from home!. Also buy a small lithium jump starter (£30) and carry it around with you. Handy to have & If it fails again connect jump starter to battery terminals and it should get it started if its a battery\charging fault. If it doesnt start its nothing to do with battery and take it back to dealer and leave it with them to fix.

I had this with my 2019 GS after about 18k miles/2 years. Eventually I decided to replace the battery and I've not had the problem since.

He's already replaced the battery several times , so unless. he's had more duff batteries fitted ?

I presume someone has stuck a multi meter across the battery terminals while the engine is running, you getting a a charging voltage, say something over 13.5v ?

Think bike will show voltage on tft if you dont have a multimeter. Both while engine is running & stopped. Both useful figures to show if your battery is charging & state if charge.

Who knows. All I know is... My bike had exactly the same symptoms (cold start - battery fine, ride a few miles, fill up with fuel, warm start - absolutely no starting. Wait 15 minutes and it starts fine). Replacing the battery cured it.

Only thing I changed was the battery spec. I went for a Yuasa YTX14H-BS (https://www.halfords.com/motoring/motorcycling/motorcycle-batteries/yuasa-ytx14h-bs-12v-high-performance-maintenance-free-vrla-battery-239829.html?_gl=1*1vgmgg4*_up*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhMOMBhDhARIsAPVml-FqbFZb-yedXDtAp-orwQnGFqONuG5Mg_znpEkmmdrOpyjvWYhYnLQaAtstEALw_wcB

Yes, tft does show voltage. That’s not directly translatable into state of charge, though it is related, of course.

You should never talk about motorcycles in the B&B...... I read it on here
