GS - 911 Fault Finder

OK so i just had an email back from the suppliers in Ireland. They are offering a 5% discount which if the item is around £210.00 (310 Euro) for the blu tooth one by the time they have been shipped to me and I have then forwarded them to yourselves i dont see that any great saving has been made.Personally I think £210 is far too much.As I believe s figure of around £144 was mentioned at the start of this thread.May be we could see if they will offer a club discount so individuals may buy?

P.S Just looked on the makers web site they come out at £153.00 not sure what the shipping is.But it wont be £57.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're not going to get far looking for a discount from a distributor, it's not in their interest to offer much. You need to persuade the manufacturer to do a bulk shipment, but if they "protect" their distribution network in the usual fashion, they will decline. They'd rather lose an eleven unit order than a distributor.

In the autumn... I paid over 300 euros including shipping to get one from South Africa to The Hague...

Al...

Earlier this year I enquired regarding the postage from the manuf in South Africa and postage for 1 unit $51 USD so with the price of a bluetooth unit
I make approx £180,so anything more within Europe is expensive. So as a group who want to purchase 12-15 units we must be able to improve on this price, even if we save on the shipping.Hope this helps.:roll

I bought one in June his year. Cost was £160.62 - delivered to my home.

The vat bill came in some time later

I don't think it's work all the time and effort for a marginal saving offered by a "bulk buy". If you want one just justify it to yourself then buy it. :beerjug:

Just to let you know i had a further email from biketec(the Irish stockists) today they have said that they could cover the cost of a bulk shipment 10 units or so insured and tracked but I would still need to cover onward postage again with recorded delivery. They also said that if we ordered 15 units we would get 1 bluetooth unit free which would make each unit asumming we all had blutooth 291(ish) euro.I do not feel that is a good deal. What say all?

Good effort on trying but that is the same price (E275 + E15 = E290 ish) from the Belgium supplier including 1 years software updates and postage to UK. (see my last). So no benifit that I can see and a lot of work for you at current offer. Why not tell him that and see if he can offer some more discount?...UK GSer is a big lead for him and this needs to be worth your while?

Yes I have mailed back to them explaining we can get from SA cheaper.See where we get.;)

Does anyone know how to calculate how much the Duty and VAT would be on the order from South Africa?....that may take it up to the same price we can get them for in the EU:blast

Use 5% duty plus 17.5% VAT on the landed (inc shipping) cost.

Eg if item cost £100 at source, £15 shipping, duty is £5.75, VAT on the lot is £21.13. total is £141.88.

there will likely be a handling charge as well.

I have worked it out, Item Cost, Handling, Duty, Postage and VAT from various places:

From USA www.gs911usa.com

GS -911 Blue Tooth £195.72:D
GS-911 USB £165.51;)

From Belgium www.gs-911.be

GS -911 Blue Tooth £208.44:eek:
GS-911 USB £175.38:eek

From South Africa www.hexcode.co.za (same as USA but higher postage)

GS -911 Blue Tooth £204.78:nono
GS -911 Blue Tooth £178.58:mcgun

So cheaper to order from the USA!:clap
As we suspected our own EU Friends:monkeypiz are ripping us off.

Good point..:blast..it's £11 - so why don't our Irish friends :aidan drop the price to get the business then? Having said that post from Eire would be £8.50!

i think the problem lies with dhl as my job send out a lot of spare parts but to get the parts insured for damage and loss you have to go with dhl/fedex as normal post does not cover items for more than 400euro .i ask a lad in work and to get a part cover for value of 4000 euro it cost 70 euro on top off the cost off postage he said around 120 euro to england total post 190 euro.. taking in an earlier thread you were gettig 11 at 290 would work out at what i have as the lad in work. so in fairness the lads in ireland are looking after the post which is a good lot of money you dont have to pay
what do you think gabby
