GS dodgy sidestand?

It is really odd how some people have problems with side stands and others don't - I am on my 4th 1200 and it has never been an issue - what's going on?

Spot on. It's hardly rocket science :-

1. Look at the condition/slope etc of the ground that you want to park on before you put the side-stand down and get off it
2. If on a downward slope, keep the engine running in 1st with the clutch in and put down the side-stand down. This will kill the engine and take up any transmission slack so it won't roll forwards.

....or is that too complicated ??:blast

Hadn't noticed anything different about the side stand other than it being mounted further forward.

BUT

This is my first GS that doesn't crunch it's mirrors against the garage wall when I put it to bed.
The others would no matter how far away from the wall I parked.

So, on that bombshell - I like the new bikes side stand. :thumby:
