Hi all, my boxes are now about 7+ years old having been on 2 successive 1200GSs, and although still working perfectly, locks, watertight etc are looking a bit tired, Especially the aluminium covers on the box lids. I know therse are cosmetic but they let down the bike a bit. Q is does anyone know a source of these as they don't appear to supported spares. New lids come complete with ali covers but that seems a bit expensive with Christmas round the corner.
I would consider second-hands if in ex nick and well priced.

Tks and enjoy the Christmas hols.

Replacement covers are £63.51 incl. VAT according to NOG. That will obviously change slightly on Jan 1st. :D

I have a brand new unused lid for a 1200 vario pannier/top box sat in my garage in the BMW cardboard box. (I believe it may also have a 1200 sticker with it at about £18 rrp but don't quote me on that.) I intended to sharpen up my old bike but I went and sold it with luggage instead.

£40 plus P&P, send me a PM if interested.

Just a thought....if your pannier covers are not badly damaged, what about having them sprayed over in a light silver? The covers can be seperated from the plastic gubbins around them which would make it easy for you to drop them off with a sprayer, and he would not have to charge for his time to mask up the surroundings.

This may be cheaper than buying new parts.

Gatesy,

They are £63 each and NOG is North Oxford Garage. Thus, any BMW stealer should be around the same price but at this time of year you ought to be able to knock them down 5 or 10% on that figure I'd have thought.:D

Give'm a couple of more kicks - makes you look mean. Or go somewhere and buy a sticker with the place you visited!:D

Tks to all who replied to my Q. I think I'll follow NLC's advice a buy some stickers after all. £126 buys a lot of fuel, probably Spain and back from here, maybe in July.
