BMW gearboxes
Firstly there have been vast improvements over the years but, unlike a chain driven bike, to change gear does require a little care & expertise. Not because BMW gearboxes 'are crap' as the unitiated will say; It is because the clutch and gearbox revolve at engine speed. It does take a little time and patience to learn the technique but if you feel you have not the necessary skill then stick to a chain or belt driven bike; The 800S looks interesting. (Oh and incidentally the gearbox will improve wirh sensible use, like most pieces of mahinery. Brian
