GS1200 Road tyre recommendations

Hello. I'm looking to replace the Tourance tyres fitted to my 2011 GS1200. More inclined to tarmac rather than dirt. Not too fussed about the mileage return, more grip wet/dry and comfort?
Can anybody recommend any ? Thanks in advance.
 
Lots of tyres are good. Tourances are prob best value and hard to beat. Road 5 Trails are good (might need 36-42 pressures) and Roadtec 01s good too. Lots of people on here like the Avons. Best you can do is to try some and see how they go. But do get something designed to take the bike's weight - it's a relatively narrow tyre and a big heavy bike
 
Tyres

I am a big fan of the Pirelli Scorpion 2. Grip well in all road conditions, very predictable, OK on dry dirt, last reasonably well considering the grip provided. I get about 5000 miles out of a pair when touring.
 
Michelin Pilot Trail 5 for me. I am on my second set. A road tyre with good grip and feel. I got just over 13K out of my last set, they still had legal tread depth but the back was squared off from loads of motorway miles.

+1 I get similar mileage. Good wet and dry grip, neutral handling. Very solid tyre.

It was a toss up between the CTA3 and the Michelin Pilot Trail 5's...Both getting fab reviews. The Conti Trail Attack 3 seems to the same reviews for grip (wet and dry) as the Pilot Trail 5, but seems to wear longer...

I went for these last year. Still fitted and I reckon they'll be good for a return trip to Italy... when the lockdown is over.. .

They've done one return trip there and not squared off . Hence I'll get another trip out of them.

Decision made

Many thanks for all the suggestions. I've been occupied with other things so it's been awhile for me to get around to acknowledge the replies. The Metzler Roadtech 01 have been decided upon. I'm not going off road, it'll be (was going to be a trip to Spain/Portugal) continental and Uk touring. I fancy the idea of pure road tyres, though never had any problems with the Tourance, just fancy a change.
 
for what it's worth, and you must decide for yourself, but after 1,500 miles I had slight scalloping running 32-36 so have reset pressures to approx 35-40 so see difference. Most bikes run 36-42 now so althought tyres are meant to cope with a range of pressures, it is likely that 1 up 32-36 is on the low side
 
I agree with you Michelin 5 I actually ended up at 36/42. Good longevity and fantastic grip. It’s a heavy bike I would say the recommended pressures are fine on more less road biased tyres.
