GSA alarm not working

I had an alarm retro fitted to my 2014 GSA. Worked fine , but I found not having a keyfob a pain , so bought an RT one and dealer programmed it. Alarm will go off if you just open the topbox when on the centre stand. However if you have the keyfob. Press once to arm the alarm , but if you dont want the motion sensor (On ferry or train ) then the press the arming button on the fob , Twice !

my bike was supplied with a factory fitted alarm and I expected it to work the way you describe but for some reason it didn't.

I washed the bike yesterday and it chose the moment to start working.
think i need to put this one down to a combination of user error and ignorance of how the system works.

The owners manual has no instructions on how to operate the alarm buttons on the key fob remote. The dealer said BMW may have issued an insert with these instructions which would normally find its way into the owners handbook.

I tried program my alarm using method from RR alarm and sadly it didn't work. I failed to get confirmation beep after doing this:
igniton off
ignition on
press 3x button no 1(arming)

after this you should get confirmation beep if procedure was applicable to GS alarm.
