Nobody is forcing you to buy a new bike

Buy an old bike & service it yourself buying spares as cheap as you can

Choice is yours - but don't moan about BMW dealers

If you can't afford, buy another brand or take up Scrabble

Your a bit late saying that I've already got a new one. Geezus h thingy peeps on here must have lost all sense of irony or tongue in cheek sarcasm. Cabin fever has indeed set in.

That reminds me... did you ever add up your actual PCP costs like you said you would? Just asking..... :P:D

I spoke to the dealer on Friday and explained that I want to pick up the bike on the weekend, not the Monday. I've offered either late on the Friday or v early on the Saturday so he can have the rest of the day clear for the launch. He's still prevaricating a bit so I'll just go in to see them later this week when I am back in the uk and try and get it organised then. I'm not particularly minded to cancel the order and refund the deposit etc - but I suppose I would expect actually selling bikes to be reasonably high on his agenda, not just organising a launch party. Handover doesn't take long, and hopefully will be a bit better organised than last year (when they spelled my name wrong on the registration docs and lost the handbook...).

I think the word hes looking for is dreich..............never mind. :comfort

Your spelling is as bad as mine

Have you added up your pcp costs yet like the good man said

Perhaps you did & frightened yourself

And you worried about 1st service costs and all

Worried about paying a BMW dealer £50 extra to do it, yet willing to pay BMW financial services hundreds in extra interest for a pcp

Priorities wrong perhaps :)

So you spoke to the dealer on Friday, giving your preferred times and days for collection, on which he is still, how did you put it 'prevaricating a bit' but you hope to pop in later this week to sort it out to your joint satisfaction. Probably yours more than his, but even so, enough that you and he are happy.

Is that about the gist of it?

Now, what happens if he stands by his guns? That's what you have got to decide before you meet for your negotiations. In short, are you up for burning your bridges, or indeed the dealership itself? Or are you going to backdown, beaten by the cruel multi-national corporation and its money grabbing rip-off merchant dealerships? Man or mouse? High principled Tosser or gym slip tosser? Walt Kowalski or Walt Disney? What's it going to be? Destiny calls......
