Er, we drive on the left.
Or I think we do.
Anyone got a link?
Which is why I, and many others, drive right hand drive vehicles.

This only heightens the pain of the early adopter, knowing that the aussies got all their bikes converted to Right hand drive before those in the mother country![]()
Tell the dealer to stick it. If they cant do the handover when YOU want it. Its your money and your bike !! Id be telling them that for sure.![]()

As a car dealer, I can say that it's pretty simple and standard across the industry. On the launch day there will no doubt be countless prospective buyers, tyre kickers, and those using it as a valid excuse to escape from the wife, so a 30 minute handover with a limited sales team is not going to be too feasible if they're wining and dining the above motley crew.

Completely agree.... After many years working in a BMW dealership .... Not bike.... And being involved in many launch events.... I understand why they are waiting for the Monday to hand over new bikes..... Firstly.... Workshop and parts are open.... Because most customers want something moving, changing, adding or cleaning.....
Plus.... As the dealership wants to give the best experience.... And have the time to spend with valued customers.... A launch day is never going to be the right time..... And the old days of "just give me the keys and I'm gone"..... Should not happen.
And what is the problem with 2 more days..... Or is it.... " I got mine first " .... So you can sit at the cafe, and coo over it.....
Wait, and be a bit more understanding of a professional dealership, trying to give you an experience....not just taking your money....

Even though I have been ripping the OP a bit, he may well be in a position where he can't collect in the week so it would have to be a weekend
On the collection of my GSA I had a Saturday handover (because i work away in different places during the week) but when the sales bod got to the "this is the traction control, don't ever mess with it or .....well just don't touch the button" it was then time for me just to ask for the keys and tell him to walk away.
It would appear that a lot of people buying new BMW's, in the dealers eyes, are of the more money than sense brigade, but they could justify that opinion with 5 minutes in the WC or Hexhead section at times.
RIGHT...... This is really easy.... The original point is easy to rectify...... TALK to your dealership.... Explain that a Monday is a busy working day and you really can't get in.... Ask if you can go in a few days before the launch....( not with a group of mates ) to have a handover, check your new bike, do all the paperwork and ask for it to be delivered at a time to suit you..... I did this.... Great service from Williams Manchester ....
Easy.....
Sorry but

Where does the valued customer fit into this scenario ? If the customer cant or wont do the pick up at the dealers convenience he should change dealers. It would be very easy for one "salesman" to do handovers while the rest try and fleece the general public of their hard earned. But that wont happen because its all hands on deck to get as much sales as possible................thats the real reason.![]()
