GSA LC......6000 miles.....heres the good n bad.....

Nice one Mr Moon. They are good bikes and I concur with your humorous post.

Picked mine up from Bristol, ex dealer bike, I'm the second owner. Corrosion on diff so this was replaced by my local in Northampton. Dealer didn't look after the bike. Heated grips are iffy as this is a 14 plate so much so that one fella on here changed his bike, Cambridge based I believe. He did have a valid excuse but we know he missed the bells and whistles. Couldn't give it the mileage it deserves as work got in the way for the rest of the year, horrible. Did have the odd weekend off and sometimes rode it to work. Same with the windscreen but the small one has cracked mountings. Squeaky rear suspension which annoyed me so the local had a look after lubing the shock eye ends didn't work. Turns out the driveshaft/swingarm was binding on the diff housing requiring a some new bits. Where would I be without a BMW warranty. Can't complain about the machine and the service I get from my local. Service costs are about the same as the old one and tyres are cheap. Like so many on here I really like the bike, even the missus like it. Then they gave me an RT as a loan bike :blast.

The rear spray wants sorting and that was solved with a mudsling, same to the front also a machineart thingy. Struggle a bit with the indicator and with the Nav fitted sometimes the wheel gets knocked changing the display. If only the DNA passed on to me had me have longer things. Not a problem riding in to work cause that is all the Nav does anyway. I thought about taking it to a track day but the last GSA had the pegs ground down so I'll stick to sort of spirited road riding. The silver bike needs so attention and is on the ramp. The driving lamps seem to be fixed now after an application of Dow Corning DC4 to stop the water ingress at the connector. I still have to find out how far it goes on a tank of fuel. Whats the weather like in Scotland?

I bought it as is with no sat nav or luggage. Got a Nav V for £400 of this site, a small tailbag BMW silver thingy for less than half the price of a new one very handy, GS tank bag once again a bargain, Rox risers from Mr Moon (worth every pennie that sub) and the panniers had to bought new when the Black Friday deals came through. Don't you just love these American things. Said to myself that working yourself to death is not the way to enjoy life. A couple of trips planned next year and can't think of another bike to do it on comfortably except that RT. The MotoGP in Misano being one of them.

must invest in a mud sling thingy...save using my legs.....
