My GS saved the bike in me

I will be forever be grateful to my GS.

I came off my Gixer Thou in Spain on a trip with some mates in the summer of '07. I've come off before, years ago, but this time it really messed with my head for Some reason. Maybe it wasn't helped by one of the others writing his bike off the next day but who knows, either way I really didn't ride much during the next 12 months. I totally lost my mojo, been riding for over 20 years and felt like a complete flid. It seemed every time I was getting my confidence back I would see a bit of gravel in a corner and I would be back to square one. Anyway, bought an '04 1200 from a chap returning to OZ (cheers for helping on that Pinky Tiff) and it has really sorted my head out (nice hight position, trusting the tyres again etc). Dunno what was the mental block but either way I now enjoy all my bikes again and feel like I owe the GS a big favour.

So to me, you want one, you get one, you don't, get something else. Don't slag 'em if they are not your cup of tea, go look some where else. Or, buy one with a view to living with it for a bit and if it don't float your boat then get rid. If you think it's a lot of money, because yes 11K+ is a lot of money, then bloody well buy something cheaper, it's what I did.

Cheers guys.

Hi

Blimey, just realised I didn't say Hi to one and all. Been lurking for months.

Hope you're all well watered this friday evening.

Hi its quite simple if it rocks ya boat buy it. If not dont. As for things going wrong FIX them & If you can do a pre-emptive strike fix it before it breaks.

It works for me but then again My Capo rocks my boat & It does everything I ask of it tooooo.:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

If ya bikes got soul brill if not OOOOOPPPPPPSSSS ya got the wrong one ha ha ha ha

Agree with that man
i had a few sports bikes as toys, VFR .Blade etc i realy did'nt enjoy them they just kept saying 'thrash me!' going out for an hours ride always turned into a lap of the TT, at least one near death experience and 'i wonder if there was film in that camera'
I bough a GS 1150a 4 years ago without riding it , and for the first 500 miles it seemed very agricultural compared to the Japs.
But once used to its little vices i can honestly say i have never enjoyed a bike so much, and have no thoughts of changing ,like some one else said, take the little roads and enjoy the suroundings, there really no need to go everywhere at 100 mph.
I must admit motorways are not my favorite on the GS
