GSA toolbox catching rear mudguard arm

Anybody else had this problem by any chance.

I have a GSemotion toolbox fitted and just noticed that the bottom chamfered edge of it must be catching on the side of the rear mud guard.

There is absolutely no space to left to adjust the toolbox further out due to the pannier Tupperware.


And before ya say it yes it might be that I am a slightly larger Tosser but still that's some suspension travel to catch the side of the box.

Anyone else had this problem and if so any solutions cos I can't think of any (foook right off dieting doesn't count)

Do you ever travel 2-up with luggage. I have seen this before and it seems to happen when the suspension travels its full length. Or if your suspension is a bit on the soft side this can happen.

Maybe a bit firmer suspension and a pie or two less

Not two up but you might be right was fully loaded in Scotland for 4 days a couple of weeks ago so possible.

Usually ride it in sport so that's the less travel and with luggage sport with luggage.

my Twalcom plastic one belted the mudguard thingy and snapped the long bolt holding it on... so I've took off the mudguard thingy... pretty useless anyway

Looks like it, just been having a fiddle with it might just have a fraction of adjustment but it's not square with the Tupperware frame. So be it, thanks to Annette for pointing out the obvious to everyone but me.

Doesn't catch when not loaded with panniers and I forgot about the spirited ride round the Highlands with panniers.

I put a crud stopper on the number plate, MudSling and chucked the TUV shovel. I suspect the shovel simply throws the muck forwards. It then gest sucked into thge low pressure area ahead of the wheel and finally out over rider's legs. MudSling protects the shock and numberplate extender keeps crud off pillion's back.

If you take off the mud guard, better check real carefully whether the tool box may hit the bleeding nipple of the rear brake caliper. Some of the tool boxes on the market seem to be a bit wide.

Agreed, not had mine on since I bought my bike in 2008, got a nice limberger carbon hugger though.

Rear mudguard is only there to comply with German regulations re spray thrown up.

Remove it. Bin it. Done it on all my GS' s.

who's crud stopper did you use?

I made my own simple ally plate bent slightly with three holes for plate to fit,I use this & mudsling to get rid of crud guard it does nowt

Before comments this was on my old GS the plate was out of centre done by a shop
