Nope, never had that happen....but I do have a Hooton tool box......

Ride it hard and fast over a bumpy road with TKC's fitted and it will self solve the problem for you.

Another issue with the shovel is it traps dirt and hides salt damage to the FD case.

i agree take of the mud guard, its the first thing i did. then buy a nice little plate to bolt on the hub from touratech :http://shop.touratech.co.uk/hub-cap...r1200gs-adventure-up-to-2013-bmw-r-ninet.html

Some scrap/off cut 3mm alloy sheet, drills & file will make one for 2p

Mine strikes the hugger, but no so badly that I think I need to do anything about it. I presume it only happens on heavy compression - I've never noticed it happen, just seen the scuff marks. However mine's a different version of the GS emotion box than yours (e.g I dont have a bevel on the edge) so maybe yours is wider or deeper so a bigger issue - mine's about 2 years old so not sure if yours or mine is the latest.
